Why this series exists
1 in 3

American births now begin with an induction. In the 1990s it was under one in ten.

Nothing about human pregnancy changed. What changed was scheduling, liability, and a single 2018 trial read as permission to induce everyone at 39 weeks — applied across the board instead of case by case.

The routine use of induction for convenience, fear, or hospital efficiency is not in the best interest of mothers and babies.

— Dr. Bill Chun

Seventeen days. At least two live Wednesdays.

Long enough to sit in real sessions, ask Dr. Chun your own question out loud, and decide with evidence instead of a sales page.

Inside the membership

Every Wednesday. The same OB, in the room, taking your question.

8:00 to 9:30pm ET, live on Zoom. Not a recording, not a chatbot, not a forum — an obstetrician answering your actual question about your actual pregnancy, week after week for as long as you need him.

Each week opens with a teaching topic and then the room is yours. Pregnancy doesn't arrive on a syllabus, so the question you bring on a Wednesday in October is the one you actually have that week — the appointment that unsettled you, the number someone quoted, the sentence you can't stop replaying.

There is no cohort and nothing to catch up on. Join any week, stay as long as you're pregnant, and come every single Wednesday if you want to.

Topics in rotation
Induction
What "it's time" actually meansWhy 39 weeks became the default, and the five questions that make a recommendation explain itself.
Cervix
What a check really tells youDilation, effacement, station, the Bishop score — why a number at 38 weeks predicts far less than you've been told.
Water
Breaking the water, and the clock"Once the water is broken, there's no turning back." When it helps, when it's simply the next thing on a protocol, and what it commits you to.
Labor
Monitoring, movement, and the epiduralContinuous versus intermittent, what you can still ask for, and why it is almost never too late for an epidural.
Pushing
The two-hour rule that isn't oneThere is no universal time limit for laboring down when you and the baby are stable. What to say when the room starts counting.
Cesarean
VBAC and the second time aroundReal numbers on rupture risk, what makes a VBAC likelier to work, and how to plan a birth after a birth that didn't go your way.
Plus
Whatever you bringBreech, big baby, low fluid, going past your date, GBS, postpartum warning signs — asked live and answered live.

Bring the sentence your provider said to you this week.

This is what it's for.

You have an induction scheduled and you're not sure you ever agreed to it.

Bring the date to Wednesday's session. You'll leave knowing what to ask before you walk in — and whether the reason holds up.

Everyone in the room seems to know the plan except you.

You'll know the words before anyone uses them on you. That is most of the gap.

You've read forty conflicting things online and you trust none of them.

Ask a board-certified OB directly, out loud, and hear him say where the evidence is genuinely uncertain.

Your last birth didn't go the way you were told it would.

Bring it. Understanding what happened last time is how you plan differently for this one.

Who's teaching

Bill Chun, MD, FACOG

Board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. More than thirty-five years in obstetrics and thousands of deliveries.

He is unusual among OBs in saying this out loud: he ruptures membranes less than his colleagues, does fewer cervical exams, induces less often, and has waited hours in a delivery room when a mother and baby were both stable and the protocol said to move.

A good medical recommendation should survive good questions. Including mine.

The first session is Wednesday, September 23.

You do not have to become your own obstetrician. You need enough understanding to ask one good question at the moment it counts — and to know it's a fair one.

Seventeen days costs you nothing. If it isn't what you needed, cancel and you're never charged.
